The way the tiles are laid defines the look of granite-effect ceramic tiles. The same tile can create a subtle background or a pattern that makes a statement in the room, depending on how you work with direction, format, and grout lines. Here you’ll find inspiration for designing floors and walls with Bricmate’s granite-effect ceramic tiles.

With our new 7x30 and 20x60 cm sizes available in all series*, there are more opportunities to vary the layout within the series you’ve chosen. Both sizes are available in a matte finish, and in the Limestone Select series, they’re also available in a honed finish.

Patterns with 7x30

The narrow 7x30 cm format allows the installation pattern to become a distinct part of the interior design. In a herringbone pattern, the tiles meet at right angles, giving the surface a shifting direction. In a brick pattern, the rows are offset relative to one another, while a straight layout with aligned grout lines creates a more orderly look.

On a wall, you can lay the tiles vertically or horizontally. Try, for example, a vertical layout behind the bed or let a pattern continue across a larger wall surface. Choose the same series as on the floor to tie the room together, or a different color to highlight a specific area.

Patterns with 20x60

The 20x60 cm format gives the elongated tiles a different scale. It’s ideal when you want to work with direction and repetition, but with tiles wider than 7x30. A straight layout emphasizes the lines, while a staggered pattern gives the joints a shifting rhythm.

The 20x60 cm size is available in all series with a matte finish. In the Limestone Select series, you can choose between matte and honed finishes. This allows you to start with the series’ color and stone character and then select the finish that best suits your project.

Combine with different sizes

By combining 20x60 and 30x60 cm tiles, you can create layouts where rows of varying widths add variety to the floor. One example is Limestone Select Classic, where the alternating sizes complement the tiles’ natural variations.

Even smaller sizes can be combined in a pattern. This page shows Glanshammar White in 7x30 cm combined with Glanshammar Dark in 15x15 cm, where vertical and horizontal tiles form a recurring pattern.

Plan your combination based on the tiles’ actual dimensions, thickness, and joint width. Consult your retailer or tile installer to ensure the sizes work well together in the pattern you wish to create.

Let the grout become part of the pattern

Grout that matches the tile’s color allows the material’s natural variations to shine through. Contrasting grout makes the pattern stand out more clearly. Feel free to lay out a few tiles and compare grout samples before making your decision.
